Mr Ten Pints has done quite well at Old Trafford. His time there will not be a stain on his CV. I suspect that, to a certain degree, he will feel a sense of relief alongside his disappointment; he has been relieved of the burden of flogging a dead horse at the behest of a group of owners who couldn't really give a rats ass about the club or its supporters.

He can now move on to pastures new where, with a spot of luck, he will not have to spend most of his working days banging his head against a brick wall.

Someone said on bbc5Live this afternoon that he will get a £10million payoff!

It's a poisoned chalice atm,  not sure the guy they're after wants the job either.

If he gets ten million, good luck to him. None of us would turn down a contract offering those terms and conditions. Although, in all honesty, I suspect it is another media hoax.

God knows who they will get next. The United  job is not the golden opportunity it once was. They will have to offer extremely good money to anybody they actually want because, so far as I can see, only a fool would want to accept a chalice as poisoned as that one.

Agreed.

Now though there is such a thing as 'career managers'  though the manager gets blamed even if the fault lies with the players.
