HelloWith the Budget just over a week away, uncertainty remains about what it will bring and how it could affect your finances. Speculation ranges from pension tax relief changes to a capital gains tax overhaul. We’ve looked at the latest rumours to keep you informed.

One thing is certain, however. The state pension will rise by 4.1% in 2025, after inflation came in at 1.7% in September. Plenty of savings accounts beat that figure, with the best offering 5%.

Now look here folks, just relax, okay!

No matter what horrors are about to be visited upon us tomorrow, please remember that Rachel Reeves and the rest of the chunts on the Gub'Mint front bench are going to do really, really well out of this budget. So that's ONE thing we don't need to worry about!

Phew!! 😊

Rachel Reeves gave a very good speech and then Rishi responded robustly,  saying Labour had lied about taxes and national insurance.
She has given carers a boost,  they can earn £10,000 before tax and Pensioners get £30 a week more.

Any comments?

Chancellor Rachel Reeves tells the BBC it's likely her tax-raising Budget may affect pay for workers, as businesses will have to absorb the costs of paying more National Insurance or give out smaller pay rises
• Asked about the consequences of increasing NI contributions for employers by 1.2% from April 2025, she says: "I said that it will have consequences"
• Employers will bear the brunt of the £40bn in tax rises unveiled yesterday, the biggest increase in a generation - read the key announcements here
• Analysis: Reeves is now entering the valley of maximum scrutiny and jeopardy for her prospectus, our political editor Chris Mason writes
• The OBR, which assesses the health of the UK's economy, said the package of economic measures would ultimately "leave GDP largely unchanged in five years"

Martin the money saving expert, the only one to call out the lie that pensioners will be £400 better off,he pointed out it was the NEW pension ,that most don't get.
All Labour cabinet,quote this lie.
Martin also pulled Reeves on 150% increase of Pension Credit applications, saying 150% of a very few.
All this,to Ed Balls ex Chancellor why didn't say a word. Ed let Reeves lie uninterrupted too.

Businesses have warned tax hikes announced in the Budget offer nothing but "pain" and will leave employers with less cash to give pay rises and create new jobs.
Chancellor Rachel Reeves has decided firms will bear the brunt of her £40bn total tax rise by increasing the National Insurance rate as well as reducing the threshold that employers start paying it at.
It means more than half of the tax rises in the Budget will be paid for by employers, with the jump in the amount they pay in National Insurance on workers' wages to generate £25bn a year.
Reeves said the rise in National Insurance hike was "difficult", but the right choice in order to fund public services.

How the Budget will affect you and your money

'National Insurance rise will make life harder'

Minimum wage to rise to £12.21 an hour next year.

Although there were some exemptions or relief for the smallest firms, the increase to National Insurance will have big cost implications for businesses.
It comes as firms also face having to pay higher minimum wages, higher business rates, as well as the cost of adapting to new workers' rights under new laws.
Firms have warned such extra costs could ultimately impact the government's goal of growing the UK economy.
