I hope you make a full recovery Sheila. I don't suppose a clapped out old codger is any use to you?  :-[

I did the same thing last Saturday at the garden party, in full view of people, three guys had to get me up, I've fallen over twice now wearing flip-flops so may have been the footwear :-\

I used my left arm to break the fall, pulled a muscle (abdomen) but other than that everything working ;)

For the past 10 days I have been playing foster parent to some seagull chicks. They hatched out in a nest on my roof, but last week one of them must have fallen out and took up residence on my path. The RSPB and RSPCA didn't want to know so I started feeding it fish fingers and cat food bought specially. (See tin under bush)  Its two siblings decided to join the club, so I finished up feeding the three of them. ( Watched most of the time by their mother) Yesterday when I went feed them they had gone, and when I checked this morning the food hasn't been touched and there was no sign of the chicks. Hopefully they have now flown off to join the other birds who fledged at the same time. :)

Oh Sheila, don't let him fool you - he was talking about buying an air rifle when the first squawker had him awake at dawn the other morning!   ;D   Nor does he even own a cat, never mind feed it Fray Bentos pies.......

But I'm sorry to hear you fell.  Hope you're back on form soon.  :smitten:

What an awful thing to say. I am shocked! :o  I love all of Gods creatures Cups. (Even embittered Spinsters) ::)  My seagull chicks may have flown the nest so to speak, but only today whilst I was putting rubbish in my bin I counted a dozen bees flying in and out of an air brick vent in my exterior cavity wall. Obviously word has got out that there is a kindly Dr. Doolittle type living in Llandudno who welcomes waifs and strays. I include you in that Cups.  8)

You just keep hoping, don't you?  All these years and you still think there's a chance of me realising the truth and arriving at the seaside to iron your socks.   ;D

Loving Gods creatures ,fine Adsum. But when they move in with you,I draw the line.
It took 3 years to get rid of our ants.
Now ,bee,s have moved in. A hive in the garden last year [still there] and now another in the fabric of my roof, and as we don,t have a loft, into the bedroom.
I looked it up on the Net. When the nest gets overcrowded ,some leave with a Queen and set up another nest.
Even an abandoned nest can be found by roaming bees looking for a home. So they may be here to stay.
Politicians and nappies must be changed often, and for the same reason

Someone mentioned that they hadn't seen any earwigs for years, they should be glad, they used to get into the washing on the line and so get into the house -yuck!

Next there was a pesky squirrel who was in our loft and used to bring in its' pregnant wife until the builders blocked the entrance up.

loz, one advantage of not having a loft

Now there are slugs - there doesn't seem any way to get rid of them except by using pellets and I'm not sure that works.
