KILLALEA/KELLY/MCNULTY
« on: 19:43:56, 11/03/08 »
searching for ancestors late 1850s living in Leigh, originally from Ireland.  1851 census shows McNultie living in Manchester.  The Killalea name sometimes shown as Kelly, could also have lived in Manchester, possibly Brighton Street.  I need to find out whether this and Nicholas Street were close together in order to establish whether this is where my ancestors met.  Any clues would be welcomed.

Thanks Celeste, the Killalea/Kelly comes from Galway but I dont know where the McNultys come from.  Michael Kelly (Killalea) married Winnefred McNulty in Leigh in 1855 - they were both only 20 so I guess they either came over together or met by living close by.  I think I have found Winnefred living in Manchester on the 1851 census so I am wondering if that is where they met and just the two of them moved to Leigh to work in the mills and mines.
