Good Food in Town

Where do you go to eat in Manchester, how do you find the best restaurants and cafe's ?

Is good food just too expensive, or difficult to find close to where you live ?  :-\

If children are welcomed does this mean mass-catering franchises serving low quality fast food ?  :(

Harvey Nichols, Kendals, Cafe Rouge, and Cafe Metro
