There is a forum called Mischievous Spirits in Cheshire, they sometimes organise trips to haunted places.  You can google it.  I think there are ghosthunters based in Stockport too but I don't know the details.  Brannings on Deansgate is haunted, featured on the Most Haunted programme last year.

The Shakespeare Pub on Fountain Street, in the city centre has a plaque describing its ghost - a serving girl who burnt to death there is said to haunt the pub - Wythenshawe Hall is said to be haunted by a girl who shot a Roundhead musketeer because he killed her lover. Other reports claim the ghost is the murdered musketeer.

Can anybody tell me of any places in manchester that have a reputation of being haunted? I am not talking about the places that cost a fortune to get into, more the local pubs, shops, parks etc. I would be really grateful for any info, thanks, Dave.

Any reason you want to know, or is it just curiosity?

That would have to be the Shakespeare ghost - Wythenshawe Hall doesn't have a bar
