Manchester's training facilities for sportspeople

Hi Guys,

Does the Greater Manchester area have adequate facilities for sportspeople who are training for the 2012 Olympics in London? Have any of the facilities which would have
been adequate been knocked down for redevelopment or are there any new facilities
in the pipeline?

Plenty of canals for the rowing
