World Rally Championship
« on: 16:39:32, 15/11/08 »
The sport’s governing body, the FIA, has bestowed Ireland with the honor of marking the start of the 2009 WRC season. It is the first time in almost thirty years that the beginning of the World Rally Championship (WRC) has been held outside of Monte Carlo which is the traditional starting point for each WRC season. www.rallyireland.org www.wrc.com

Subaru and Suzuki have withdrawn from next season's World Rally Championships which leaves the champions Citroen, owned by PSA Peugeot Citroen , and the Ford Motor Co (who have financial problems) as the only manufacturers in next year's championship.
