where are business listings

What is the most comprehensive listing of businesses in Greater Manchester? I mean, including those that would not normally advertise in places like the Yellow Pages.

Manchester Library might be able to assist with this query, Gary.

Over a couple of hundred years ago it might have been the Manchester & Salford 1788 Lewis's Directory 8) Some years after that it would have been the Lancashire 1822 Pigot's Directory.
