Got on the metro tram and realised I hadn't got my wallet, had to get off and go back to the last shop I was in.  They hadn't got it so they told me to ask at the police van opposite Somerfields, they were very helpful and told me to go to Bootle Street police station.

Had to fill in a form and they gave me a copy and said they would phone me if it was found and handed in.

So up and out at 8.40 went to Natwest Bank in Altrincham and they cancelled bank cards and ordered me new ones.

Then had to go to Dorothy Perkins and cancel their store card (which was foisted on me) it seems GM Money have been taken over by Santander or something and I'm sure I was speaking to someone Spanish, anyway store card cancelled.

Thought I wouldn't have enough in bank to go to the Trafford Centre on Monday as usual, but had £80 in
- a bit less after I'd had a latte and a toasted teacake at M & S (actually the coffee was free today) but had to buy teabags, milk and biscuits on way home.

This is the first time in my life I have lost my purse thank goodness I had spent up except for some small change.

well I can replace everything, I just have to wait for new bank cards, thank goodness I have money for Monday,  one of my sons would have been very disappointed as he is going to the Trafford Centre with me that day.

Celeste, thanks god everything ended in a good way.

I'm just got very embarrassed with the language you used here! I'll try to explain.

you said "one of my sons would have been very disappointed as he is going..."

how can you use such a complex past modal structure with a present tense???

as I know that, it's possible to use it like this: "one of my sons would have been very disappointed as he had been going..." for the past, or "one of my sons would be very disappointed as he is (was) going..." for present or for a hypothetical case...

future tense - he will be going (on Monday)

it's ok to use two different tenses in the same sentence

no way, you cannot use "would have done" with present tenses.... lol
it doesn't make any sense, does it? I'm wrong, it does make sense but a bit complicated one and what for use it together?

we use "would have done" when we are talking about the past only!
when we are talking about the present, we just use "would do" instead!

that's why ancient Brits invented these different structures! didn't they... lol

'would have been very disappointed' is correct -  'as he is going' should be as he wants to go to the Trafford Centre on Monday

just testing :P

he would have been very disappointed if you had failed to do smth for him. - for the past
and
he would be disappointed if you failed to do smth for him. - for the present or in theory

using the same logic:

he would have been very disappointed as he had been going to... - for the past
and
he would be very disappointed as he is going to... - for the present or in theory
