KORFBALL? - WHATS THAT THEN?
« on: 14:03:14, 07/09/06 »
Hi! We are the Manchester Warriors, a new Korfball Club which has been formed in the Manchester area. We train at the Armitage Centre in Fallowfield on a Tuesday night. We would love people to come along and train and play with us so read on and if youre interested contact us at [email protected] for details of our training times!

So whats Korfball? It is a mixed sex sport that originates from Holland. Its similar to netball and basketball and is played on a court that is divided in two. One half attacks and the other half defends. The team of 8 players is divided into two divisions. One divsion attacks and the other defends...until enough goals are scored - then the divisions swap jobs.

Sounds easy enough doesnt it!  :)

So if youre interested in seeing what this sport is about get in touch! You can just train and play for a bit of fun and it keeps you fit - without losing your marbles going nowhere on a treadmill!

Following on from the last post........

Manchester Warriors are representing the North West in the British Korfball Association Cup Round 1 at the Velodrome on Sunday the 22nd Oct from 1pm till 4pm.

If you want to watch the sport before you decide to come and try it out this will be a great opportunity to see some quality korfball being played right here in Manchester!!

There are three games going to be played so dont worry if you get to the Velodrome after 1pm.

Hope to see you there !  :)

Glad to see this wonderful sport has got a discussion going!

I dont think there are any korfball Teams in Ireland although you can find more about your nearest club at englandkorfball.co.uk.

There is definitley a national Irish team and they did really well at the Commenwealth this year!

Anyway.....Manchetser Warriors have anew definite training time of 8pm at

William Hulme's Grammar School
Spring Bridge Road
Manchester
M16 8PR

come along!!
