I know connie suer
She is the sheila that lives down the road from me in the old barn house
She is allways active at night
They say she has eys as bright as the sun
I have been told that if you get her in a situation not to her liking she will jump at ya and bite ya throat
What is it with the sheilas of today
They grow tails and whiskers
Are they from the continent or the middle east
Good health to yas all

Nothing vexes people like this old bogie!!

Our personal feelings aside . . . the REALITY of the matter is that without a thriving European Union - (with all the political clout that it brings) - Britain would be relegated to the staus of 'The Rock off the Edge of Western Europe'.

We would be unable to deal with issues like climate change, terrorism and illegal immigration . . . France is key to addressing the latter.

Inward investment pours into Britain because its seen as perfect European base and the Euro is the only hope we have of dethroning the once mighty Dollar.

Eastern Europe will provide cheap labour to fuel growth - (although sad to see Blackpool's TVR moving out there) - and Europe has some hope of keeping in touch with Asia and the US.

There are problems with the EU . . . however, Britain has to stay in for its very survival and position in the world.

This not an issue of having a superiority complex, but, I do believe Britain is the pivotal influence in Europe.
Compare this with Blairs position as Bush's lapdog, the disgrace of realising that Britains relationship with the US is not so much as that of partners, but, more akin to us being their "Live-In-Bitch"!!!

I apologise to all my female friends and relatives for my last remarks - I have strong feelings about this  >:(

Few if any. I’d feel a lot more comfortable dealing as we used to do, with the Commonwealth. But take no notice, I’m an old man with fixed ideas  and there’s 20 miles of water between us and the rest of Europe, which to my mind makes us anything except Europeans.
For my money, Maggie Thatcher could have stuck her tunnel where the sun doesn’t shine.

Hiya Peter, I'm with you one hundred percent regarding your comments about dealing with the Commonwealth countries. The European Community pass so many peculiar laws. I'm told that most of the countries in Europe tend to ignore them and carry on as usual whilst Westminster religiously pass every one of them to the detriment of British business people.

Celeste, I live in a part of the UK where voters cannot vote for the Labour Party nor the UKIP.

Well I did know it started as the Common Market. Then it became the European Economic Commumity. I thought you knew what your were talking about so I let you get on with it. The guy for whom I voted would have been Sir James Goldsmith of the Radical Party. Was that the forerunner of the UKIP?
