Freesat via an FTA (free to air) box
« on: 00:23:16, 16/09/09 »
...does anyone watch Free satellite TV channels via a 'Freesat' Box with a satellite dish connection ? (instead of paying for a Freeview box) ?

Can a Sky Box or any other FTA box (besides 'Freeview') be used as alternatives without paying subscriptions?

  :)

I think only Freeview is free

I hope I can help you,  have you got a sky dish, if not free sat uses a dish you just pay for the receiver and dish- if you have a dish but don't have sky then that dish will do, as long as the wire is still on it and running into your room there is no subscription for it but you need the bbc licence for the bbc channels,  if you have a sky box or buy one second hand then the free channels you should receive. Hope this helps.

You can watch internet tv on your computer free by downloading a programe and you will ahve around 3,000 programs including movies to watch. THEN if you have a tv that you can connect your computer to, then you have a bigger screen and free tv.

If you've already got a dish, you just need to get a freesat box.  However, you may need to change the azimuth of the dish to get the signal from the satellite.
