look for the good in people - better than having a cynical and blinkered outlook- i would like to think that if i was STUCK in an orphanage someone like Madonna would come along, and not someone WHO WASN'T INNOCENT!

From the point of view of the baby and his father . . . Madonna is a meal ticket out of poverty.  However, there are important moral and ethical considerations involved in this case . . .

should people (through no fault of their own) have to give up their children because of poverty?

is it right that wealth should (automatically) qualify you to have children?

is international adoption the right thing to do?

Should Madonna not challenge the internation economic system that puts people in poverty e.g. see the recent case of Starbucks coffee and Ethiopean farmers - where the farmers were prevented from patenting their national coffee because it might inflate its price?

the only people that should be challenged on poverty is the governments that cream off all the resources that should be helping the inhabitants financially, so they wouldn't have to put their children into orphanages
