Lowry Centre, Salford Quays.
« on: 08:16:35, 23/10/06 »
I noticed Celeste mentioned her son works in the Lowry Centre. I know it's a Centre named after the well known artist L. S. Lowry whose work is known by art collectors throughout the world. I wondered, probably like many reading the messages on this Forum, what happens at the Centre. The Lowry Centre was opened on 28th April 2000. The Lowry houses two main theatres and studio space for performing arts (1,730, 466 and 180 seats respectively) presenting a full range of drama, opera, ballet, dance, musicals, children's shows, popular music, jazz, folk and comedy and gallery spaces (1,610 metres of floor space); showing the works of LS Lowry alongside contemporary exhibitions. Read more about the Centre by visiting the website.

I’m back — and currently looking at Christopher’s so-called ‘topics’ in Manchester History. Need I say more?

They are brief and to the point. When I joined the site I'd to surf the net to find them. There's nothing
stopping other people from adding to the various threads. I must say, peterw, your comments are
exceptionally informative. Where I've used good sources you tell me I'm wrong. I only quoted from a source.

No...you don't need to say anymore...I think we could be on the same wavelength!! :D
Why is Christopher posting these topics...does he think we need enlightening or is it just to get 'his amount of posts up'? (Why the preoccupation with these numbers anyway??) Yawn!!

Celeste...only from what I've read in my short time being a member on this Forum...I would have to say peterw. He seems very well informed on past and present events. Who would YOU say is number one Mancunian Oracle here???
