Manchester beware, Liverpool are BACK!!!

The reason Liverpool did so badly last season was because Benitez was a complete idiot who simply wasn't good enough for the Premiership. He is a good manager, but when up against the best manager in the world - Manchester Uniteds Alex Ferguson, he wasn't what Liverpool fans had hoped for.
 
As a Liverpool fan, I'm now REALLY excited about next season. Forget the finances, that'll be sorted at some point. A team like Liverpool will find a buyer at some point. We ain't Leeds, we have too much success to be even talked of in the same breath... That talk is pathetic.
 
The coming season is going to be very interesting. Liverpool have been very careful in the transfer market, unloading their waste of time players (And by God their are a lot of them), and bringing in some descent (FREE) players at long last. Players who will make a difference to an already good squad... And now with Hodgson... Who knows?!!?
 
Manchester United really need not worry though. I really don't think that Liverpool will be challenging for the premier league title... More for 4th place, but putting up a better performance than last season and maybe making them think along the way? Manchester City? I dunno... My beleife is that the can throw all the money in the world at their team... till the cows come home... and they will never be premiership contenders... Not even top 4. Manchester City are Manchester City... They always will be.

Well I've been waiting a long time for some male input, so I can sit back a bit I suppose, but can't we keep it friendly?
 
It's appreciated that Tom thinks Fergie is a top manager although I was surprised to hear he isn't buying any new players - is this due to him being satisfied with the team or due to keeping a cap on spending, not sure.
 
I think Manchester City and Liverpool may well be fighting over fourth place and Spurs and Arsenal (I think Heskey should have been left at home and Walcott should have gone to S.A.) vying for third place.

I support Liverpool, but in the whole scheme of life, I really don't care that much for football. Manchester United are an amazing team - Better (I hate to say it) than Liverpool, but I was just saying that hopefully our rivallary will be made just that more excitiing next season with the signings of Hodgson and Cole.
 
As far as I'm concerned, Manchester is an amazing place. It is somewhere that in future years, Liverpool will be. I've posted many articles on this site 'Bigging' up Manchester and its approach to promoting the city. Liverpool is decades behind in many ways... Just not the football team.
 
I don't reckon that MOST people in Manchester hate people residing in Liverpool. Life is too hard for that and in my job as a wedding photographer, every person I have met who lives in Manchester is bang on and has all the time in the world for me. I also have all the time in the world for them... Because football really isn't an issue. I take people on face value and Manchester people are so similar to us Liverpudlians its scary!!!

Nice post Tom.  There will always be divisions in society especially in sport with people supporting their favourite team e.g. even Manchester, City / United, but it is better to let off steam that way than to have fighting for no reason, and in the wider spectrum - wars.
