Well done Manchester City in beating Liverpool 3-0 in last nights game.
As a Liverpool fan, I am disappointed, yet not surprised at the result. Playing Manchester City in their first game at home in the 2010 premier league season was always going to be very difficult, given their spending in the close season and the pressure on them to perform. My feeling is that no matter who they had palyed, they would have won convincingly, even if it had been Arsenal, Chelsea of Manchester United.
Liverpool possibly had the hardest possible away game they could have faced in their first game and the 3-0 win wasn't one which I can look at negatively (Especially given the fact the Manchester City had only 3 shots on target all game!!!)
They look like they may possibly be contenders for the premiership and I think that the fans of Manchester City deserve it, given their recent history!!!
Good Look City fans, I hope you have a great season!
As a supporter of Liverpool, I am still very confident. As I said, this result would probably have happened no matter who they had played. Liverpool will still be up their challenging and with the major changes at the club, it will take time for the changes to gel. We have had the hardest start to the premier league out of any club... Playing Arsenal at home (Unlucky to draw), and Manchester City away (The hardest game we could have played!!!)
Those games are out of the way and it will be interesting to see how the league pans out... I do think that the fans of Manchester United had better beware at long last as their close city rivals may just have something to say this season!!!
Good luck both teams though... As long as us teams in the North West keep those southern softees quiet, then I'll be happy...!!! Just a bit concerned at Chelsea at the mo though, they are lookin' pretty fit?!!?
Anyones thoughts on this...
Tom.
