Global Warming, Porkies or what??
« on: 23:17:41, 14/11/06 »
It's coming up to winter in Manc Land and you're about to get your [censored] frozen for  few months, so given that  weather forecasters can't even give an accurate prediction for 3 days down the track, how come the wierdy beardy scientists can predict that the earths temperature is going to rise by 0.5C in the next 100 years   ::)
I reckon this Climate Change/Global Warming thing is a load of tosh designed to extract more hard earned beer cheques from the average bloke/blokess. And so what if we reduce our carbon and CO2 emissions, are China and India going to want to play as well ??

What do you think ??

I think the whole question is do we actually need to do anything??

There are as many doomsayers on t'internet as there are opposing views, I think it's just a natural cycle, 500 years ago they had ice fairs on the Thames River, 500 years before that the Vikings were farming Greenland which is now just a blob of ice most of the time.

If the Earth really is warming up then there's bog all humans can do to stop it, anymore than we can stop earthquakes or volcanoes or tornados.

Is everyone agreed on what the consequences are - NO
Is everyone agreed that it's wholly man-made - NO

Anyhoo, you'll have to prize my cold dead fingers from the steering wheel to stop me driving my bull bar fitted, gas guzzling 4X4   ;D
