Hi , my first post so if I make any mistakes please forgive me..
Right here we go...
Can any one tell me why south Manchester schools burnage, levenshulme and parrswood have such dreadful results well below the national average?
How has this situation been allowed to develop in south Manchester?
I know there are a lot of kids who can't care less about school and a lot of parents who are not interested in how there off spring is doing.
However I refuse to beleave that they are the majority and that most mancs want there kids educated and educated well.
For example less than half the girls at levenshulme ever get 5 gcse between a-c
Burnage is worse and parrswood was so bad the headmaster was removed for the good of the school i think it's time the teachers were paid differently we should pay better rates for proven excellent teachers , just remember the average teacher in any of these schools is on more than 30 grand a year and has a golden handshake pension and they don't even need to be good at there job... Just show up.
Compare the two areas Heaton moor and levenshulme both areas are next to each other however levenshulme house prices and up to 35 - 50 percent less than Heaton moor.
The reason family's will pay more for a house if they know there are good schools in there neighborhood. Priestnall has a an above the national average pass rate for gcse and the school is safe fir the kids.
Compare that with the south Manchester schools where only last month a girl was raped on her way home from cedar mount high school.
Any one who says I'm talking rubbish just take a look at the ofstead reports all the info and pass rates are there.
Now we have 3 new buildings let's hope these schools get better teachers.
