Society's Citizens
« on: 08:09:20, 10/12/06 »
In todays world of "Breaking News"  "Open Borders", "Internet", and whatever else you can think of, societies all over the world are starting to overlap, inter-twine and melt together. As an american living in europe, I've come to realize that there are those who "give" to society and those who "take" from society. Those who "give" are those who are decent, respectable people who work, pay taxes, and are good citizens and neighbors.  Those who "take" are those who cheat society, deposit "your" tax money in their accounts,  dont accept the ways of the society they are living in, etc, etc, etc.  I would prefer to be friends with a "giver" to society  regardless of his race, religion, country of origin, rather than  a "taker" .

The world is not what it used to be
Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing
This world is all us humans have
As for the mixture of religions or race that will never ever be something that people will agree on as everyone has a different opinion and they are not in a position to accept another persons view
I for one can relate to this as i have made my thoughts on this issue quite clear
The people that are takers in this world are no different from the givers in this world we are all interchangeble at any moment in time depending upon our circumstances
Best thing i can say and remember its only my opinion  is to live every day as though its gonna be ya last
why do that well no one else gives a [censored] if it is ya last do they

i agree with what you both say re givers and takers,  unfortunately some people live very impoverished lives and they need support, giving this can only make us better human beings

...This is of course the 'crux' of Britain's 'Immigration Problem'. The new arrivals are seen as 'takers' arriving just to milk the system and making no effort whatsoever to give anything to their new country. The reasons for this are clearly documented - many do not even try to learn the language, they make it quite clear that they have no intention of observing the cultural differences and a few even conspire against the country and it's people to cause the maximum damage. Yes...the majority of us would like to be givers and would more than willingly offer support but NOT under these circumstances.

So what's the answer, hard to separate the "wheat from the chaff" - the government can't seem to cope with it - can we let the weak go to the wall?

It has to rest with the Government to find the answer as they created the problem in the first place!!
You cannot blame the people coming here...they have seen a way of having a better life and seized the opportunity. Safeguards should have been put in place long ago to stop the abuse of the system. We, as ordinary citizens, cannot do this.....but we are the ones who ultimately suffer. Overloaded NHS, inadequate housing, overcrowded schools and so it goes on...and still they arrive - the persecuted and the persecutors!!

A very sound statement, village_idiot. Politicians waffle for hours on end attempting to tell us how good they are at fixing things. Inverviewers ask them leading questions ... you have to laugh at the way they answer and in their mind they are being honest but if the truth is told they are avoiding the questions .. It's so obvious they are evading the main issues .. A kid at a primary school could do better than a politician. Why the heck don't they say "Sorry .. we've got it wrong .." They are quite happy to put the tax payers hard earned money into their bank accounts. They then have the audacity to add injury to insult by going half way round the world on utterly useless investigative trips to study what goes on in other parts of the world whilst this country goes to the dogs completely.

I completely agree
Politicians are by nature egotistical morons
If i managed my business like these clowns are managing the uk then i would have gone to the wall ages ago
I do not live in the uk as you know i prefer to live in a country where the politicians are on notice 24/7 with their performances
They are removed very quickly if they dont shap up
