Always been told that mediums ( people who can talk with the spirts of the departed) the true ones never charge a penny.

Is any one reading this a medium or knows some one who is a medium?

If so I would love to hear from any one who can talk to the departed.

I once knew some one who could and she never boosted about it , she would use it like a gift.

Unfortunately, I think Doris Stokes earned them a bad name. Her trick was that many folks wrote to her asking about dead relatives and she would send them free tickets to her show, make a mental note of where they were sitting and what they'd said in their letters, then astound them by saying "someone over in this section recently lost a man, name begins with D, he'd been ill a long time?" etc. She charged a huge amount for private sittings, but made most money from filling theatres.

All of these people are mountebanks, shysters and crooks, preying on the fickle emotions of people in difficult times. Save your money and don't perpetuate their dishonesty.

I have been trying to remember 'Michael Rowes' name for years, thanks for the reminder, I also listened to his accounts and he was very convincing, he claimed that he had met his deceased Father on many occasions, the deceased were solid objects and M Rowe claimed you could touch/feel them,he often claimed that Dutch Television had filmed the encounters, but I have yet to see any evidence.

Depends what you believe.  If you believe the soul or spirit is a separate entity from the physical body, and leaves at death but continues to exist - which is the basis for virtually every religious belief system - then there's nothing particularly odd about the idea that it might be possible to communicate to some degree.  It's no more peculiar than the widely accepted idea of some Paradise on an unseen plane where everyone who ever lived wanders about in a white frock being happy....  ???

I only object to the fakers who set out to coldly exploit vulnerable people - and that applies equally to all the fake roofers, plumbers, pushy salesmen, scammers and bogus meter readers out there.

It's nice to be important, but it's also important to be nice.

That's right, and was the name of the other guy Ron?  I got sent a whole lot of paperwork about it, wish I could find it.  Rowe also said they were banned from television here, I know he mentioned Arthur C. Clarke and also a woman who was in the middle of a seance or something and the police burst in and the shock killed her.
