"Good" Areas To Live In - Advice Wanted Please
« on: 14:21:33, 19/05/12 »
I moved from Salford almost 40 years ago & now live down south. In the next 12 months I will almost certainly be returning to the area. As a lot has changed in that time I'm trying to reacquaint myself with the eastern side of Manchester.
Because I like the Peak District & enjoy cycling & walking, areas that hold appeal are Denton, Woodley, Marple, Hyde, Glossop, Romiley, Bramhall, New Mills & Whalley Bridge.
When I lived up there these were all places that were regarded as good areas to live in (good in this context would be low Anti-social behaviour, low crime, good local shopping & transport) I'm just trying to find out if any of these places are no longer in this sort of category.
I'd be looking to live in a bungalow or flat as I'm now in the category of senior citizen.
Any tips gratefully received.
