When I lived in Manchester, Piccadilly Gardens (don't mention the wall or you'll upset Celeste) was famous for many things, most of them immoral or illegal.  Happy days!

OOh I used to like piccadilly gardens specially as a teenager at midnight waiting for me bus singing 'child in tiime' can someone postthat blasted wall then? I always thought Piccadilly gardens was a public area as I recall there were toilets as well OH I'll google it.

This may not be Piccadilly gardens as you remember it Julie, but you have to admit it's a lovely wall.  The man sitting on the bench doesn't fancy sitting facing it though.

oH churchy that wall was built within the last five years I think. Couldn't you save up and visit our ancient island? I'm sure one of us would put you up and take you sight seeing. look I live in Maidstone Kent and I get homesick.

I am old enough to remember when the place for "Working girls" to be seen was in Lewis's arcade which in those days seperated Lewis's store from Wile's toy shop next door. They used to line up on both sides of the arcade and I can remember as a small boy looking at them and thinking, "what a good idea. I think I will meet my girlfriend here when I grow up!.

Now then talking about buses when I were a young girl it was made compulsory by the then council(1970's) that there had to be a regular bus service including after midnight to get people home I remember there being debates about it on radio Piccadilly and in the MEN. And it happened we had a regular bus service Now what I want to know is OO stopped it? me and my mate Jo used to get the bus she always had her brolly with her and I remember she would hook it over the seat in front and when we got of the bus she would only have the handle left the brolly bit had collapsed. p'raps you had to be there at the time.  It was damn funny. Well jo was well endowed or well blessed and I was tall and skinny and flat chested she always tried to palm me of with some greasy looking creep the friend of the bloke she had just met who was more than likely a greaser type thank goodness my future husband was watching me from a afar well actually laughing at me trying to escape their evil clutches

nO i know what your saying Mr. Council what you are frustrated at is the undoing of things and things could be made better with more time and effort your list I find is philosophical Not in a I hate way (I think)

OK. I see the wall now. But you also have building there hundreds of years old. Nothing like that in the US. I would like to visit England someday. Two places I would like to visit are the James Herriot museum in Thrisk (I think that's how it's spelled). He's my favorite author and the ruins at Whitby.
