St Mary's at the Dam, St Winnie's conveniently opposite the Crown Pub, St Peter's on Oughtrington Lane, the United Reform by the library, the Baptists on Higher Lane and the Methodist Church on Eagle Brow.... I am surrounded by God-botherers.  The Churches round here band together and stick joint leaflets through letterboxes.  It's not easy staying heathen, you know!  ;)

St. Werburgh's church looks very old and interesting, is it in Little Bollington?

Warburton, if you mean the really old one.  In fact, there are two - the old one is a listed building and not in full use.  It goes back centuries and apparently has some fascination for those who like old churches.  They built a new one in the 18somethings and that's still in full use.

There is a company called St Werburgh Ltd in Bollington, but I think they are something to do with land or property.  I don't think God allows shareholders, although round here we've plenty who think they're already on the Board!   ;D

St. Mary's church, the one next to the Church Green pub/restaurant - I wonder if people come straight out of there and go for a drink ;D

St Winnie's is bang opposite The Crown too - many a tiddly worshipper used to wander into Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve, still holding their glass.  The Methodist Church is two doors up from the Spread Eagle.  I suspect a lot of Churches and pubs were originally built close together, as they were both places where people spent a lot of time back when communities were smaller.

I've been in the Spread didn't notice a church though, I'd like to sit outside at the Fleece as it overlooks the canal, watching the boats pass by on a summer evening :smitten:

It is lovely in the Fleece garden - but it is also the only pub in the village with a garden for kids and dogs, so you can watch the boats, but sometimes the peace and quiet is a bit lacking!   If you come out of the Spread Eagle and walk up the hill, the Methodist Church is there.  There's no pavement that side of the road, so you'd not walk directly past it.

If you then walk across the road, cut through Henry Street and along the canal bank to the Library, you'll find the United Reform Church (and the Sanctuary Cafe). I have to admit I am not quite sure what the United Reform version of things actually is, but they are very nice people.

From the front door of the library, look left if you're going in and right if you're coming out and the building there is the URC.  Walk around the other side for the front entrance, though I don't know when it's open.

I don't go round looking at old churches, but I remember my mother being particularly interested in one in Alderley Edge and looking around the old churchyard, don't quite know why - old castles I can understand as we both liked history, I still do but at one time I used to get dragged off to any stately home in the vicinity of Cheshire, Capesthorne Hall, Little Moreton Hall  etc. - it was like one of those school trips ;)

We got dragged round various Welsh castles and English stately homes as kids, and I think being cold and bored has shaped my views forever.  ;D   That said, the Creation Window in Chester Cathedral really is worth a look.  All the more incredible when you know the artist has Parkinson's disease.

You might like the URC on the days when they have FairTrade Sales though, and I believe the Sanctuary Cafe has home-made cake....  ;)
