Aye, I find the current govt annoying too. %ge vote is better than number of  MP commons seats. If youre Tory inclined but live in a Labour stronghold your vote is pointless. and vice-versa. Current system sucks. hence all that tactical voting nonsense. And anyway, people arent actually voting for anyone, merely voting to cancel out your neighbours vote, and basically voting against the candidate you dont want in case your neighbour does. Its all nonsense. The sooner the people wise up to all this the better.  Its usually only 80,000 votes that change govts, in fact it was only 18,000 in a fairly recent election.  ::)  Total farce.

It's the "voting against the candidate you don't want" that means there's little point anyone from the minor parties standing anywhere in a GE year.  Nothing's perfect, but surely "Who do you want in  Number 10?" is such an important question that everyone's opinion should count.....

Way things are at the minute, there's not a man amongst them I'd actually want in charge.... ::)

you got that right Cupcake.   O0  Cameron gets right up my nose and that idiot Ian Duncan Smith is a gobsh--- . All that bashing the disabled  and other groups is bang out of order. And theyre up to their usual trick of 'divide and conquer' by trying to turn the working classes against each other whilst their rich buddy bankers and other loaded types rake in millions.
Then again, Blair, Brown and the pc brigade socialists got right on my t--s  so I'm doomed whoever gets in  :(

I am no socialist, but I did actually think Gordon Brown was a man who did the best job he could in a dreadful situation that really wasn't of his making.  I don't say he was perfect - who is? - but I honestly think that any of the current crop would have left us in a worse mess.  I wouldn't let Miliband run a bath, never mind the country.  I'm seriously hoping Boris decides to lead the Tories next election.  I'm no Tory, but that man won my undying respect when he told the World Cup fixers they could whistle for Olympic freebies in 2012.  That's the kind of backbone we need in EU budget meetings!   ;D

Milliband creeps me out with his weird shaped mouth and he looks a wimp. Having a silly surname aint doing him any favours either.

Did you hear O'bumma on telly earlier quoting 'call me Dave'.  'We're all in it together' he said!

Man-gina?  If that means what I think that means, it doesn't belong on an open Forum site for children to read!  :o

I know humour is a foreign concept for you grumpy old men, but do you think perhaps he was joking?  Hands up, I like Obama.  He's not tried to nuke anyone; he's never had plastic surgery; he drinks beer and his main qualification for the job wasn't an acting career.   ;D    I think it sums up US politics when Clint Eastwood would enjoy a landslide victory no matter which party he headed, and the only reason Arnie's not got the job for life is his place of birth.

I have to laugh at the way both Obama and Romney stand there with their shirt sleeves rolled up.  I guess it's their way of saying "hey, I'm willing to get stuck in......" but will voters buy that I wonder.

Aye, politicians do like to be seen with rolled up sleeves near elections...'man of action' and all that nonsense. They're also partial to wearing hard hats, doing that 'man of the people' look, when the truth is they wouldnt last 5 minutes doing a heavy manual job  ;D

Good question Julie, maybe someone will tell us on here because I've never heard of any of  the contenders for the Police Commissioner job.

The only one I've actually heard of before is the Labour MP for Mcr central or somewhere, Tony Lloyd. But he was in favour of the Mcr congestion scheme scam so no vote from me.  ;D

Well i have to say i chucked my voting card in the dustbin.  Why should we have an ex MP up for election as a Police Commissioner?  They are already  overpaid as far as i am concerned, then if they leave to be a commissioner they will be getting £105,000 p.a. probably on top of their generous pension for being an MP.  I believe there are 400 of these prospective police commissioner posts up for grabs countrywide just when i thought we were being screwed every day with libraries shutting down, hospitals being merged into larger ones and old people's homes being knocked down,  families who are too poor to feed their children, benefits being cut for the really needy etc etc - the list goes on.

Why do we really need a Police Commissioner when we have a Chief Constable who does an admirable job in the first place - talk about wasting money - i give up!

I agree with your "jobs for the old boys on fat salaries" point of view, but that is exactly why I did go and vote for a better candidate (in my view).  The only time I don't vote is when I am equally happy with all the candidates.  You'll be gutted now if the former MP wins by one vote!  ;D
