A superb book.  I have it myself and would highly recommend it for anybody interested in Manchester's buildings.

There was a short series on the BBC quite a few years ago called 'Travels with Pevsner' which had presenters touring English counties and exploring a number of buildings which were mentioned in the Pevsner guide books.  I don't know if there's been anything made more recently.

Sir Alec Clifton-Taylor did a BBC TV series on buildings which I viewed in the late 80s - think it was a repeat 'Another Six English Towns'

Most of my photography is of the older buildings in the city centre, Ancoats with its mills is an excellent location although a few alterations have taken place over the years.  I mentioned Castlefield before as well, that's another favourite of mine along the canal.  I'd also recommend St. Peter's Square, plenty of great architecture here and work my way up towards Piccadilly.  I would like to eventually take some pictures of Cheetham Hill Road as it is today starting from Trinity Way, as there have been a number of new developments built here.  I don't know if they could be described as scenic not having visited for a good many years, but fascinating I'd say.
Liked your post Carl. I love old buildings, pubs in particular. I don't know if you know Greengate, Trinity Way, but there is now a monstrosity (in my eyes) built where  "The Three Legs of Man" pub used to be. What a shame.

Thank you Greengate Girl.  :)
It's been quite a few years back since I last drove down Trinity Way towards Cheetham Hill, so not too sure of what's there now.  I aim to visit these locations in the near future and photograph some of the alterations made (for better or worse, we'll see).  Like yourself, I love old buildings and the architecture around Manchester is something the city can be very proud of.

The Three Legs of Man rings a bell but can't quite recollect it's precise location.  Was it knocked down a while ago?  You're right though, it's a shame about these old pubs disappearing.

:) Hi Carl, The Three Legs of Man was on the corner of Greengate and Gravel Lane. Across the way is Greengate arches where Victoria Bus Station was. I don't know when the pub was closed and that awful building was erected, I saw it on another forum. xx

Many thanks Greengate Girl.  O0  Yes, I seem to recall it now.  Looks like I'll have to explore this area as well -  this could be like taking a trip down memory lane.  I may be mistaken, but I think there was also a pub on the junction of Trinity Way and Blackfriars Road, not sure if this is still there but I remember a boarded up building.

:) Hi Carl. The pub (The Black Lion) is still there. It was boarded up, then reopened. I'm not sure about
now though. x
