Glitch?
« on: 07:58:51, 03/01/13 »
I'm able to type a few words then a line comes down after the letters I've just typed and the space bar won't move

I've not encountered this problem on my computer at home, but the ones at work do sometimes freeze up when you're in the middle of writing something - don't know if this was the same issues you were having.  I'm no computer expert unfortunately, but occasionally we just have to re-boot it and everything's fine again.

Might be gunk under the keyboard messing with the keys.

It was taking me ages to post a few words, I found it easier to press the key to go up on to the next line - when I came back later it was working ok ???

It was stuck again so I rebooted and it's ok again, perhaps it's more of a 'grinch' now

Celeste is your keyboard a wireless keyboard? If so it could be that the battery is on the blink. It happens to my mouse and keyboard when the batteries run low.

Yes it is wireless, I know I am having to type slower - I use a pastry brush to clean the keyboard in case there is 'gunk' underneath - I have to go back as I miss out letters.  Thanks John

it is used to switch between the two text-entering modes. The first is overtype mode, in which the cursor, when typing, overwrites any text that is present on and after its current location. The other is insert mode, where the cursor inserts a character at its current position, forcing all characters past it one position further.
