CC,
You appear not to understand.

It would be totally wrong to call an Asian a [censored], Asia is quite a large place and has more Nationalities and Races in it than just Pakistan.
So [censored] is not a name for an Asian. [censored] is just a shortened version of Pakistani. Bit like a Brit is a shortened version of British.

[censored] is simply a corruption from the Southern States. Their version of Negro.

 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negro
The word negro denotes 'black' in the Spanish, Portuguese and old Italian speaking vocabulary, or from the ancient Latin, niger, 'black'

but it is not p.c. to use that word over here

I didn't try to justify anything, least of all to you. I merely said it like it is. I sold my house to Peter the [censored] and HE used the term not me. I am not a racist or a bigot. I have friends from many cultures and I am proud of it. But I am not afraid of using a word in the right context.

I doubt if we will ever agree on this isssue because we seem to be covering the same ground again and again.

Sorry, I didn't address the question about the "N" word. I don't know if the word will be automatically censored but we will se. As I have said all along, it is only a word and it depends on the context it is used in. When I went to school all those years ago it was amazing what could be written in an essay if it was "reported speech". Until the 1960s you could go to a painter and decorator shop (pre B&Q) and get [censored] brown paint. Obviously the implications of the word ban it's use now but it is only a word. Sorry if it upsets anyone. I, honestly, cannot remember the last time I used the word. And I agree, it is awful... but only a word.

OK the word was censored. Fair enough, but it is still only a few letters strung together. Dare I try the F word??

I am  northerner living in  the south dear CC I really do not know where you or your friend are coming from.
One thing the southerners are not are racist do you ever actually look at the evidence to substantiate your claims or is it just heresay. I know quite a few Liverpudlians who live near me one of whom is black. Sounds like chinese whispers to me.

I have always noticed a under current of racism in the northwest on a daily basis , you hear it at work and in conversations by people who claim to be anything but using negative words to describe other cultures and people's .

A friend of mine from down south says when she comes to manchester it is much in your face as she put it than down south.

Pressing her to explain she stated that words such as the P words were used by all in the north even in a Asian persons presence as if they were deaf to the English language.

Are northerners or mancs more racist or more tolerant of racism than the rest of the uk?
I live in the south and am mancunian sorry aint got a bl**dy clue what you or your friend are on a bout
