Greetings, all!

Best Manchester bands? Only seen one mention of 10cc. Well, there's another. Also, what about Joy Division and, later, New Order? Then of course there were The Buzzcocks, followed by the fantastic Magazine. (Seeing them at the Apollo, one guy described them as the Pink Floyd of Punk! Nice analogy.) Then of course, there's The Fall who seem to have lasted longer than anyone. Plus, there's The Verve, James, Barclay James Harvest, and how can anyone avoid mentioning The Smiths, and Oasis? Yep, I think we've turned out a few big selling bands, whether you like them or not. Then of course there are the smaller bands but who still made a significant impression. Does anyone remember Fireclown?

Oh! Do Herman's Hermits count? I know Peter Noone was from Stretford, and one of the later members, Pete Cowap, was local. I'll add others if and when they come to mind.
