Gang on the rampage in Milnrow

150 youths going wild - must have been an scary sight. Has anybody seen anything like this in their neighbourhood? What can be done about it?

My friend and work collegue (ex Boss) is currently in intensive care in Hope hospital after suffering a fractured skull after being dragged out of a pub by three scumbags in Littleborough. He is still unconcious and is not looking too good. Police caught the scumbags on Monday night. They will probabally get two weeks community service with a £20.00 fine whilst my friend may never get over it.

Chris — The only thing that can be done when kids go on the rampage is something illegal — like catching one on his own and giving him a good hiding, which is something his parents should have done.

Milnrow? Good grief my Great Gran used to live up there, it was just a quiet village then, there was the odd moonraker but no rampaging youths. Shame we don't still have transportation to Australia!

This line caught my eye. The unprecedented number in the gang has prompted police to call for tougher parental controls and to write to the parents of the ringleaders. There's no point calling for tougher action and writing letters. The police should have taken more positive action such as visiting each household and having a quiet word with the parents of each of the children in the group.
