These people have absolute power over their charges, and you know what that can do - a few years ago I would have thought why didn't they tell their parents, but after reading that the parents wouldn't believe them then I began to wonder if the parents were intimidated by the priests, they used call uninvited at peoples' houses

Got to stick up for my gender here. Women abuse too, very grey area I know but men who are highly motivated in general can be woman crazy. That does not spill over into paedophilia, in fact such men would give there hind teeth to teach such people the error of there ways,

Women who abuse often do it under the influence of men  they must know right from wrong but they don't have any strength of character

My boys went to St Bedes,  this is the second time i have heard of something nasty happening .
I must say though that it was indeed a superb school and nothing happened to anyone while they were there....

None of us know the real truth ...do we / Why folk cannot report abuse right away is beyond me ...I was attacked once coming home from work , at the back of our house (nothing major) ...I ran screaming down  to our door ...the police were called the man caught, court case followed ... and all was well.Simple.

Taxi driver helps stop attempted rape of woman in Bury A taxi driver helped stop the attempted rape of a woman by a man she met in a bar, police have said.
The woman met the man at The Blind Tiger in Bury on Sunday.
Police said they went on to another bar before they got into a taxi from Kay Gardens sometime after 04:00 BST.
The taxi dropped the woman off in the Radcliffe area, but the man followed her out of the car and attacked her, police said.
The man was disturbed by a second passing taxi and ran off.
The taxi driver stopped to help the woman, driving her to a police station where she reported the incident.
The offender is described as being in his late 20s, with olive skin and short black hair that was spiky on top.
He had very dark eyes and a long straight nose. He told the victim he was from Greece and Cyprus.
Police are appealing to anyone with information about the attack to come forward and are particularly keen to speak to the first taxi driver.
