mancini sacked.
« on: 22:40:43, 13/05/13 »

Roberto Mancini has been sacked as Manchester City manager after three-and-a-half years at the helm
The 48-year-old Italian replaced Mark Hughes in December 2009,winning the FA Cup in 2011 and City's first top-flight league title for 44 years in 2012.
Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: "Roberto's record speaks for itself, he has clearly secured the love and respect of our fans
"He has done as he promised and delivered silverware and success."
The club also said:"This is the outcome of a planned end of season review process that has been brought forward in light of recent speculation
This term, City are a distant second to champions Manchester United, went out in the Champions League group stages and lost the FA Cup finalto Wigan.

Manuel Pellegrini, Malaga's Chilean coach, is favourite to succeed Mancini.
However, on Sunday night the 59-year-old, who spent one season in charge at Real Madrid in 2009-10, insisted he was not about to become the new City boss.
"I deny here and now being the new coach of Manchester City, I haven't signed any agreement with anybody," he said after Malaga's goalless Primera Division draw with Sevilla.

Well it wasn't a surprise but I pity any new manager who takes the job,  the pressure to win the league and/or the F.A.Cup, and progress in the Champions League to the satisfaction of the Chairman et al will be immense - so maybe it will be a case of take the money and run, or be prepared to run!

I hope Mancini takes his millions and I expect him to be offered a new job before the start of next season O0

No not a surprise, some times the team played great, and some times they really struggled . He did,nt seem to be able to get the best out of them consistantly . I,m sure he will get another team, maybe in Italy where I think he would be more effective.

Tough job nowadays for anyone.

It seems he wasn't "holistic" enough with his players -  ::)

could Fergie ever be described as "holistic" with players, if they read that in
Italy they will think they are daft

According to reports in todays Manchester Evening New, Mr. Mancini could walk away with up to £20 million pounds severance pay because he still has 4 years to run on his contract. I'm sure he will be crying all the way to the bank.   ::)

Its a strange howdudo, were they realy going to sack him if they,d won the cup??. An ex City player said today, why did Van Percy choose to go to UTD and not City. mmmm. things could have been very different.

When the T.V. cameras zoomed in on the owners at the end of the game you could almost tell that Mancini was gone..  The expressions on their faces and the way they were talking said it all. ( in my opinion ).

Your right Adsum, he wont walk away broke.

What did man city's Abu Dhabi utd owners think?

All we have to do is throw money at it and we will have a sure fired treble every year?

We will buy the best players and no one will ever win a game against us!

Well if they did welcome to the real world , maybe in your luxury apartments and bedouin tents  overlooking the oil fields that we pay threw the nose to fill are cars with you have realised the world is not a place you can buy the results of everything.

As there are  scotchmen who are so loved that half a million people come to say goodbye to them when they retire, they are are in clubs they build upon with success and patience and hard work they bring through the kids from local towns and spend years training , something money doesn't buy is passion and heart.

So Abu Dhabi utd owners of man city when you find a manager like that and a player who on 250000 a week in your team who appreciates that he is the one of the luckiest people on earth and should play his socks off for you then you can buy the title.

Until then enjoy the money spending and the empty cabinets.
Also could you drop manchester from the title as your embarrassing us again.

Yes...someone asked why didn't RVP sign for City ....well in his own words he "wanted to win something" and he knew the value of a great manager and club...I don't want to sound Nasty ...but humility is a fine thing ,city and fans haven't shown any .Mancini didn't win the 2 trophies for city the Mansours  did..dress it up all which ways ..money bought the title...So now we will see a New manager, new top quality players again..a shed load of money again .... I hope it stays fine for them ...

The humility shown by some fans continues to astound me, dos,nt anyone look at the transfer fees paid for the U.T.D. playersby the richest club in the world.??.

The obvious difference between the money spent by both clubs,  is the fact that United generate their own transfer funds, through the turnstiles/merchandise/sponsorships and business acumen, City are funded via one man, no doubt had Everton (for example) been chosen by the Sheik, they too could be in the position City are in now.
