The obvious difference between the money spent by both clubs, is the fact that United generate their own transfer funds, through the turnstiles/merchandise/sponsorships and business acumen, City are funded via one man, no doubt had Everton (for example) been chosen by the Sheik, they too could be in the position City are in now.
