The Umpire strikes back - at least three major errors and players dismissed wrongly up to now

Aussies redeeming themselves

Exciting possibly not the word.....  England clambered slowly to 297 for 7, trying to avoid the follow-on.  Usual controversial decisions and botched appeals.  I am still betting on the weather to make it a draw.  In fairness, if the Aussies win, they've earned it.  If our lads win from this hopeless position, it'll be the stuff of legends!  ;D

I've been thinking a draw, too late to have a bet now

You'd probably not make much anyway, given the situation and the weather forecast.  Rain all day tomorrow, on and off, then thunder and lightning to start Monday, followed by heavy showers - or so says the current forecast.   Besides which, Cook only needs a draw to retain the Ashes.
It's nice to be important, but it's also important to be nice.

There's always a chance though...... that's the fun of it.   At least KP finally managed something at the wicket - even if he did put his foot right in his mouth, saying Old Trafford used to look rubbish....   ::)

hahaha maybe it did - I've not been for years but they have a new stand and I can see it from the tram when going into town.

Doesn't matter if it did - he should have been polite!  He's just not safe to be let loose anywhere near journalists.... ;D

I don't really think he should get MOTM after his on-field rant at the Umpires over the bad light decision......   but then, candidates were in short supply this time!  ;D

We get to keep the Ashes though.  O0

You can never rule out the Aussies until the very end.  Given better weather, they might have just clawed out a win there.  They never give up, that's for certain.  Had they won at OT, the next Test would have been tasty.  They'll be spitting blood now for a series draw.  I do hope Cook can carry off the next two though and make it a proper stuffing!   ;D

Are we happy to have just retained the ashes,? or are the aussies better than us ,it certainly looks that way, if so what's the point of these last matches , spectators paying good money to watch a dismal batting performance by England yet again??????
experience is what you get when you don't stop trying

The Aussies are ferocious in defeat - they are chucking everything they have at making the series a tie.  Our lads beat them in Test 1 and plastered them in Test 2, then held them off in Test 3.    We'll keep the Ashes by right and credit should go to the players for that.

I didn't think the batting was that bad - rather that the bowling was excellent and the wicket a wee bit slow.  We've not seen the Aussies bat on it yet though   By tea time it'll be clear whether our lads' total was dismal or distinguished!  ;D
