I feel really sorry for her.

Especially for the tears she shed for her bad behaviour and attendance record.
She also appears to be also a little stupid, getting dressed up when she was told there would be no admittance.

Who was in the right ,School head or mother? ???
Don't you just feel sorry for her  :)

Not only was the school right. The mother was totally in the wrong. Bad enough that despite numerous warnings the child and mother chose to ignore them. However the icing on the cake was the decision to run bleating to the press. The photographs look as though they were taken by a professional photographer, so it was all probably pre-planned.  What kind of lesson in life is the mother giving to her daughter? Who will now in all probability be teased or even worse, bullied by those who know her.

We didn't have school proms in my day. ( I sound like my dad  :-[ ) However I know what would have happened to me or any other kid if we had exhibited the kind of behaviour that this child is alleged to have committed.  ::)

Yup, that's how it used to be done..any grief  from school followed by a thick ear from your dad.  keeps people in line  O0 Same thing with being a plonker at school and the football team,  cause grief and you didn't get picked to play on Saturday no matter how good you could play.

Some years ago I was on the cab rank in Manchester. A harassed young woman came up and was putting a baby in it's trolley into the back of the cab, asking to be taken to Miles Platting, a run down rough council estate just out of town. With her were a little boy aged about 3 and his sister aged about 5, who were wandering away from the cab to look in the shop windows. She shouted down the crowded street after them, Beauregarde, Chantelle. Get in this [censored]***g taxi now or I'll kick your [censored]***g a***s. what chance did those kids have in life?  ::)

Aye Adsum,  giving children dopey names is basically branding them for life and consigning them to a fulfilling career stacking shelves in supermarkets and all that.  This trend for stupid names is getting out of order.

There should be a system like in Iceland (the country, not the supermarket)  ;)  Where they have a list of 1,000 or so 'approved' boys and girls names,  and if parents fancy a different name,  it has to be submitted to a panel for approval or rejection.
