Have my doubts about that figure....  the way he plays is physically hard and doesn't usually lend itself to a long career.  Injuries creep in, and I reckon that's already started.  Can't see Colleen wanting to leave the UK either.  I'd be surprised if he goes anywhere.

He was never worth fifth of that price at his best and who in there right mind would want someone who is forever spitting there dummy out?
He speaks a language that no [censored] can understand out side his 20 mile birth radiance?
European clubs don't go in for his sort of game.
He'ill end up a pikiey, he's been in training for it  ;D

I think he's just a bit upset - and fair enough really - to have the new boss say that if Van Persie is injured, Rooney might just come in handy.  Looking at Rooney's contribution in recent years, and considering how big a part of United Fergie was, I have to say it's about the most insensitive and gormless thing he could have said right now.     Can see why Rooney is angry.

I support the team that actually plays in Manchester.  :D  however I have nothing but admiration for Rooney the player, if not the man. He always used to put 110% effort into his game. I think DMs throwaway remark was just that, a throw away remark. Maybe he should have chosen his words more carefully, I can understand why Rooney feels aggrieved after the effort he has given United. I wonder if DM has a hidden agenda from Rooney's Everton days?

Having said all that I think the money paid to professional footballers who reach the top is obscene. However if the clubs are daft enough to pay it, why should the players turn it down? I know I wouldn't given the chance.

110% effort for his club but 50% for his country. Rooney is just a big kid, like 99.999% of footballers, if they don't get there own way.
All of them are only interested in what's good for them & not the club.

Over paid, but that is down to companies like Sky and the Muppet who pay subscription for the football.
Money will kill British football in the end, including Man City.

You are right migky. What is going to happen if or when these overseas owners grow tired of their latest toys and move out? I live in Eastlands as it's called now, and there's no doubt that Arab money has played a major part in regenerating the area. However I believe if the Arabs were to withdraw and go back to the desert, it would not only have a devastating effect on Man City, but also on the Eastlands area in general.

That's always a hazard when any organisation puts in big money or is a key employer - coal, steel, ships, docks, fishing - any boom risks a bust sooner or later.  I'd even bet a fair few businesses local to the Beeb's London site are struggling with the loss.  :-\

I suspect DM was really saying that with two strikers, selling either one would leave him exposed.  But given his history with Rooney and the major changes for everyone at Old Trafford, he should have been a bit more careful.

If  United were to sign Fabregas I think Rooney would be on his way out but Arsenal have first refusal

I doubt they would invest that sort of cash then drop out. It's an investment to them on a long term scale.
I admire the etihad(united) owners  a great sense of investment . After trying to buy the titles they have won a couple of cups. But there not disheartened at all.

In fact there more or less putting more money in to build a football legacy.
Unfortunately it's not admired by true footballing fans , who see it as buying the titles. Unlike Manchester United who built there legacy on success and determination over years the blues are trying to buy the cups and that will forever tarnish there efforts.

City fans will be the new Chelsea hated by the many and seen as foreign owners play things.
