It amazes me that we are talking about protecting children here and there are people advocating that the council is right on telling another country that there children should be able to see and read homosexual material of any kind.

Whatever happened to children having a carefree and sexual material free childhood?

There is absolutely no grounds for manchester writting letters to other nations about what they deem fit for there children to see and read.

Other than making manchester a laughing stock. I can just imagine how the letter would be received.

Next on the agenda is a letter from manchester council in the United Kingdom , I shall read it out to you all.

Dear Comrades , We at the council of Manchester  have some concerns about your proposed laws stopping children from seeing or reading homosexual images or text. We here at the council have had a only a few child abuse cases in our district so we can lecture you on the rights and wrongs of it.
Other than a few cases of child rape and abuse in some schools and a couple of high profile celebrities being arrested ,charged and sent to prison, the city of Manchester is in a good position to advise you that homosexual rights are far more important that a care free childhood for children.

You shouldn't knock Manchester City Council.  :o

Remember a few years ago our forward planning Councillors declared Manchester a Nuclear free zone. In the event of a Nuclear war we Mancunians will be sitting pretty whilst all around us towns will be getting wiped off the map. The people behind the attacks will have first checked on Google  earth before releasing their rockets and declaring.  "Don't aim the bombs at Manchester boys. They are a Nuclear free zone".  ::)

Nuclear war is somewhat unlikely, but I suspect Fukushima and Chernobyl and even certain parts of Cumbria are a bit envious....  ;)

If my memory serves me right;  there was a time when our glorious labour council, wouldn't allow our troops to parade through the city! >:(

I presume that our labour council are protesting outside the Ugandan embassy, where homosexuality is a crime, where being gay you can be arrested, beaten up, jailed and even murdered!

I wonder if they are protesting to these African and Asian countries that allow female genital multilation? >:(

It is incredible that this city is able to run with the fools that are in the council chamber. I am surprised we are not doing a Detroit.

Ah, but here comes Stephen Fry, writing an open letter asking for the Winter Olympics to be taken away from Russia over their stance on gay rights.......  Now it gets really interesting.

Oh I do hope not.  He's objectionable, even if you support gay rights.  I reckon he's stirred up more dislike of gay people than anyone else.

It would make him newsworthy once again - 'the day I (tried to) arrest Putin'

Newsnight had a Putin adviser on saying the law is designed to stop homosexual pornography being shown to children. He said the west had got it very wrong.

He was debating against an American women who he obliterated by stating  that the USA has no problems with Saudi Arabia who would cut your head off for being gay.
So why is the USA upset with Russia trying to stop porn being shown to children?

Lets see how Manchester council and its dumb letter writing supporters find grounds for the tea and biscuits meeting to go ahead now?
