A homeless boy has been bought presents by officers after he turned up at a police station with only a bin bag.

Nottinghamshire Police said a 12-year-old went to Nottingham's Radford Road station a few weeks before Christmas.

After he was placed with a foster family, officers gathered £130 in cash and other donations to make sure he had gifts at Christmas.

Officers said "the case had really stuck" with the team and colleagues from across the force had helped.

Special needs in Manchester praised by school inspectors.

The five-day inspection by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission in November said services had continued to improve despite the coronavirus pandemic.

It praised the "clear vision" of local leaders and said it was communicated with "passion and ambition".

Inspectors noted the progress and pace of change in improving the provision.

They said "another key strength" was the strong working relationship with parents and carers through the Parent Carer Forum, which works with city leaders.

The inspectors also highlighted the culture of co-production and collaborative between professionals who "work well with parents, children, and young people".

Proton Beam Therapy

A four-year-old boy is living life to the full after the success of proton beam therapy for his rare brain tumour.

Teddy was just 18 months old when he underwent proton treatment on the NHS at the Christie in Manchester.

He is the youngest patient in the country to be treated at the UK's first high-energy centre.

His mother Amy described her son's diagnosis as terrifying and devastating but said the proton beam centre was a "place of hope".

Proton beam therapy is a type of radiotherapy that uses a beam of high energy protons, which are small parts of atoms, to treat specific types of cancer.

Comedian Peter Kay has said he was "honoured" to launch a wheelchair-accessible powerboat for members of the public in Lancashire.

The Wheelyboat will allow disabled people to enjoy waterborne activities at the Anderton Centre in Chorley.

Kay, who has previously visited the centre with his children, said he hoped it would give "a lot of pleasure".

Andy Beadsley, director of the Wheelyboat Trust, said it was "a lifeline for anyone with a disability".

He added that the vessel "removes the barriers and enables disabled people to participate alongside and on equal terms with their able-bodied counterparts".

He added: "All too often people with disabilities are restricted in the activities they can take part in due to lack of accessible facilities and equipment, which is something we are striving to change."

Elon Musk has bought Twitter, and the Left are screaming their heads off because they will be denied the opportunity to suppress and censor free speech on this highly influential social media platform.

Now surely this is good news. What’s not to like? 😄

Yes Steve, the salt is flowing big time, I wonder if Donald will be tempted back, I did read that he said he wouldn't be returning when Musk first signalled his intention to buy twitter, maybe he'll be tempted eh?
On a positive note for the leftist rabble that are dribbling into their bibs they can take comfort from the fact that an 'African American' owns the company now.  ;D
