The prog wasn't shown in Portugal because the Police there decided very early in the investigation that the McCanns were responsible.  They crawled all over the apartment and car, testing for DNA and found nothing they could use.  They never seriously pursued other options, detectives from the case squad leaked to the press and even published in books their opinions that the McCanns knew exactly what happened to Maddie, and the case was closed as far as they were concerned.   They now refuse to waste time or manpower on it and won't assist. 
 
Maybe they are right.  I have no idea, BUT it is unforgiveable in my view that they are not making the slightest effort, just on the offchance they got it wrong and that little girl has been passed around by perverts for six years due to their lack of effort to find her....

I've just been looking at a map of Praia de Luz showing the McCann's apartment and the spot where the latest suspect - a man carrying a small child to the beach - was seen,  there is quite a distance from the apartment to the coast,  why would he walk all that way if he had been planning a kidnap, and if he was in cahoots with others wouldn't there be a car nearby?

There are a lot of odd things - for instance, the Portuguese Police dismissed a timeline drawn up by the people with the McCanns, because they decided it was a cover up to protect the parents.  They also dismissed sightings of a suspect that evening by those same people as lies...... 
 
I've no idea what happened - but the only thing that matters is finding out what happened to that poor little girl.  God forbid she's living in some cellar or worse....

The neighbour said: 'The flat has never been used again since the little girl went missing.

'The shutters have stayed down and it is more like a mausoleum than the happy holiday letting it once was.

'I still remember the night she went missing and a young female Portuguese officer saying, "She must have just                                                walked out – there has been no break-in and the doors were left unlocked".'

 
Maybe the McCann's friend forgot to lock them when he checked at 9.30pm

Well, who'd want to stay there after what happened?  You'd have to be a ghoul to want to be there and you'd need a hide like a rhino's bum to be able to brush it all aside and have a jolly holiday.

The response from the public has been immense, probably there will be a handful of leads worth investigating, I'd be interested to know what sort of info. the public are giving the police - must take a lot of time sifting through it all.

Let us hope that the real parents of this child can be found. This discovery must give a glimmer of hope for families who's children are suspected of being abducted.

Well, they've been back to Ben Needham's poor family again for a quote and they say they always believed he was taken by gypsies for illegal adoption  and this gives them great hope, confirming as it does that these children can be found.  I can't imagine what life is like for them.  Waiting and hoping and dreading.... and not knowing.

News this morning that the Portuguese Police have asked prosecutors for permission to reopen the investigation.  I hope they finally find out for sure what happened to that poor little girl.

Seems the Portuguese authorities have finally decreed that the McCanns are no longer suspects.  So they are applying for some sort of status as prosecutors themselves because that would give them access to the files on the case.
 
I am starting to hope the McCanns were responsible.  If they had nothing to do with her disappearance, then what they have been through already is horrendous, and may well get much, much worse.

The band wagon is really getting weird ,after releasing photo pics of the suspects it turns out the the main suspect is dead and was black.
